‘Awakening to the Divine Essence’ is an image requested by a friend. He envisioned an angelic being, with wings caught in webs of oppression, struggling to liberate herself. As I am deeply influenced by Eckhart Tolle, I considered the ego, with it’s limiting beliefs and concepts, to be the oppressive element. So as this being sets her gaze on the Divine, she lifts herself to the awakened state…

Unity

I started this painting, ‘Unity’, at a live painting exhibit at the ‘Unity Festival’ in Slocan, BC, close to where I live. I considered what ‘Unity’ means to me. I was in a Women’s Circle that met once every new moon, and in the opening of the circle, we would sing the directions song, calling on the Spirits of the four directions to bring the essence of their spirit to the circle.

Dimension of Bliss

I am fascinated & delighted with Hummingbird. Encountering a hummingbird in the garden is such a magical experience for me. I hear it before I see it. It hovers to feed, vibrating with the rapid pulsing of wings, then flies away so fast you can’t see it move. It reminds me there is precious magic in this world & spreads it’s bliss to my heart. I’ve been creating a few new Hummingbird paintings…
