Re-visiting the theme of the chakras, ‘Ground’ comes from the sense of the first chakra, Muladhara. The essence of this chakra is regarding the earth element & fulfilling our basic needs. Turtle is the creature who best symbolizes the sense of this chakra for me, since she lives in the water & on the land & she carries her home on her back. She represents Earth to me.
I was drawing from my Maori heritage with the design work in the earth & water.
